Round 118

A young Orcish warrior has united the tribes through convoluted acts of strategic cunning and devastating ruthlessness. Seated atop the Black Throne, the warrior turned empress rules an expansionist Empire, whose domain include the Afflicted, Dark Elves, and many other peoples.

Fearing subjugation if standing alone against the Empire, a coalition led by Elves and Humans has formed, creating the Commonwealth.

From beyond the Southern Sands, the Jagunii are marching their enormous War Mammoths to join the Commonwealth and to keep the Empire from expanding.

The Commonwealth has sent emissaries across the Icewind Strait, seeking to forge an alliance with the mighty Norse. No response has been received as of yet.

Negotiations with the great city of Kerranad have fallen apart and Commonwealth representative have been driven out by force. They take solace in at least not having been thrown in jail as their Imperial counterparts were.

The borders to Beastfolk lands are adorned by the mutilated and dismembered bodies of diplomats, negotiators, and infiltrators. Heads with expressions of terror fixed on poles and limbs pointing the opposite direction welcome would-be visitors. Although uneasy by the sight of this savagery, the peoples of the Yeti, Qur, Simian, Kobold, and even Glimjir have banded together with the Beastfolks, united in their desire to remain independent. For reasons unknown and unknowable, the Growth seems to have sided with the Independent.
