Round 110

Gameplay

Artefacts

Artefacts are ancient things that hold magical properties, which — if the artefact is found — spread across the entire realm where it is held.

Each artefact is surrounded by magical barrier called aegis.

Artefacts introduce a new round mode, where the goal isn’t to become the largest dominion; instead, the goal is to become the first realm to hold a certain number of artefacts. Once a realm has reached the number of artefacts, a 96-tick countdown begins. If during those 96 ticks, the realm loses one or more artefacts and no other realm has the required number of artefacts, the countdown is deleted.

If more than one realm has the required number of artefacts at the same time, the game picks a realm at random as potential winner. If more than one realm has the required number of artefacts when the countdown runs out, it’s a draw between those realms.

Artefact rounds come in two variants:

  • Artefacts (standard): using the not-yet-restored Commonwealth, Empire, and Independent alignment realms.
  • Artefacts (packs): same as current pack rounds, except with artefacts.

Realm-based retaliation perks are effective against enemies that have attacked your realm’s artefacts.

Discovery

You discover artefacts by sending out expeditions. The chance to discover an artefact is calculated accordingly:

[Base Chance] = ([Ticks] / 1344) * (([Land Discovered] - 2) / 10) * (1 + [Artefacts Discovered by Dominion] / 26)

[Chance] = [Base Chance] * [Chance To Discover Artefacts Multiplier]

[Chance] = min(0.80, [Chance])

If found, an artefact takes 12 ticks to return.

Attacking

To take an an artefact from another realm, you first have to break the aegis. You do this by sending military units at it to attack.

You take 10% casualties. Casualty perks have no effect, except immortal units (remain immortal) and units with fixed casualties (suffer fixed casualties).

You must have at least two hostile dominions in range to be worthy of attacking the aegis. Fogged dominions and Barbarians do not count.

You can only perform one artefact attack per tick.

Aegis

Each artefact has a base aegis, which is used to calculate the actual aegis. The aegis is calculated when the artefact is returned to the new dominion.

[Aegis] = [Artefact Base Power] * POW(POW(5, 1/1200), [Ticks])

A damaged aegis recovers at a rate of 0.25% of current max aegis per tick.

The aegis can also be restored by building Batteries (see Buildings below).

Divinity

Some artefacts are associated with a specific deity. Dominions devoted to this deity gain +20% damage dealt.

Prestige

You can gain prestige by attacking an artefact.

[Damage Ratio] = [Damage Dealt] / [Artefact Max Power]
[Base Prestige Gain] = 0.01 * [Damage Dealt]
[Prestige Gain] = [Base Prestige Gain] * (1 + ([Damage Ratio] * 2) ^ EXP([Damage Ratio]))
[Prestige Gain] = [Prestige Gain] * [Prestige Gain Multiplier]

Prestige gain is doubled if you break the aegis.

XP Gains

You gain 0.0632 XP per damage dealt to an artefact.

[XP Gained] = [Damage Dealt] * 0.10 * [XP Gains Multiplier]

Morale

Your morale is increased by attacking an artefact.

[Morale Gains] = 50 * ([Net Damage Dealt] / [Artefact Max Power]) * [Morale Gain Multiplier]

Morale gain increased by 100% if you break the shield.
